Configure Outlook Express Mail for Windows

- Open Outlook Express.
- Click on the Tools menu located at the top of
the window.
- Click on Accounts.


- Click the Mail tab located at the top of the
window.
- Click the Add button located at the right
hand side of the window. Select Mail from the pop
out menu.


- Type your name in the Display name field.
- Click the Next button.


- Type your e-mail address in the form username@mydomain.com.au
.Enter the e-mail address in lower case letters.
- Click the Next button.


- Select POP3 for your incoming mail
server.
- For the box titled Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP)
server enter mail.mydomain.com.au in
lower case letters.
- For the box titled Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
enter your internet service providers outgoing mail
server in lower case letters. Examples for two of the
major isp's are mail.bigpond.com for Telstra Bigpond users, and
smtp.ozemail.com.au for Ozemail or UUNET users.
- Click the Next button.


- Enter your mailbox
username in the Account
name box. This may be different to your username within
your email address. For example, your email address might be
jsmith@mydomain.com.au BUT the mailbox username might be
jsmithmbx.
- Enter your password in the Password
box.
- Place a tick next to Remember password.
- Click the Next button.


- Click the Finish button.
- You will be returned to the Internet Accounts
window, click the Close button in this window to
save the details for your new e-mail account.
